Our Nursery is divided into four key groups so we can tailor everything to meet the developmental needs of our children.
Your child will either join us as a Little Spark, Navigator, Inventor or Pioneer.
If your child is joining the Nursery as a baby, they will join the Little Sparks.
Our baby room is a nurturing homely environment. We encourage curiosity in our youngest children using open-end resources and our friendly team will facilitate them in exploring new things.
When it’s time to rest, we have plenty of cosy spaces for them to snuggle up or share a story, and a dedicated sleep room.
Once your child is on the move, they join the Navigators in the older baby room. Here they will have more opportunity to explore the outside and loose parts and encouraged to be creative and start problem solving.
The environment is set up to meet the needs of more physically able children and encourages them to be more independent with feeding and hand washing.
The Navigators sleep in their room, after lunch on sleep mattresses. The lights are dimmed and blinds drawn to offer a calm, restful environment. The babies not taking part in naptime will join (with a member of the babies team) the Inventors for a short time.
Around the time of your child’s 2nd birthday, they join the Inventors in the toddler room. Here, the children are exposed to a wide range of activities. They can explore the role play, small world and construction areas, or play with musical instruments and enjoy the cosy story corner.
In addition to this, we encourage sensory and messy exploration with foam, sand and water play. These activities happen every day, where the children are free to choose which activities they choose to engage in.
Outdoors, there are a variety of learning opportunities including mark making, outdoor role play in our mud kitchen, digging in our designated bays with ride on tractors and of course lots of physical challenges too.
When your child reaches their final year before starting school, they join the Pioneers in the pre-school room. Here, children have access to a full range of resources and curriculum opportunities. We encourage them to make choices about their play and learning independently, with their ideas extended by our staff team.
The Pioneers will also spend time in small groups preparing for Reception, participating in circle time and doing early phonics. Outdoor activities include forest school and gardening, where children reap the rewards of watering and harvesting their crops for snack time and preparing home-grown vegetables to go into their tea.
We’d love to show you and your little one around our Nursery! Book a tour to meet our friendly team and discover what we have to offer.
